Esra Yilmaz received her BSc and MSc degrees in Bioengineering from Ege university, Turkey in 2016 and from Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey in 2019, respectively. In her master thesis, she developed a platform to sort cancer cells from white blood cells based on magnetic levitation principle. She then started her PhD at Lund University in October, 2020. She is currently a third year PhD student in Physics, under the supervision of Prof. Jonas Tegenfeldt. Her research focus on sorting of cancer cells based on mechanical properties by using microfluidic systems and their long-term observations. Her research interests are microfluidics, cell sorting, cell mechanics and organ-on-a chip platforms.
